The Butler County Historical Society is set to unveil the new murals that will be painted on downtown Butler buildings next month.
The mural concepts will be commemorating different historical local events in the city of Butler and will be unveiled Thursday in the Senator Walter Lowrie House on West Diamond Street at 11 a.m.
A viewing will be open until 2pm and visitors can pick up an informational booklet of complete histories on the subjects the murals will be commemorating, where they will be painted, and how you can help in the event.
Over 100 sign painters and muralists from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, London and Barbados will be in downtown Butler July 27-31 to paint 10 murals. The group calls themselves the Walldogs.
