A man who escaped from the Armstrong County Jail last year and is accused of killing a woman while on the run given a life sentence Tuesday.
Robert Crissman Jr., 39, does not have the possibility of parole. He was convicted last month of first-and-second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old Tammy Long.
Crissman maintains his innocence and while addressing the court stated he ‘did not know how Tammy died.’
He was in jail for violating his parole on a previous drug conviction when he escaped while working as an inmate trustee who was allowed outside the jail to remove inmate food trays from a vendor’s truck.
