Tony Stewart snapped an 84-race winless streak by taking victory in the Nascar Sprint Cup race in Sonoma, California Sunday. Stewart made a last-turn pass on Denny Hamlin for the win. He will be eligible for the post-season Chase for the Championship if he makes his way into the top 30 of the overall standings by September. Stewart’s last victory was at Dover in June of 2013.
The drivers head to Daytona for a Saturday night race this weekend.
Rookie Christopher Bell won the Camping World Truck Series race at Gateway Motorsports Park Saturday.
Ron Capps won his third Funny Car event in the past four with a win Sunday at the Summitt Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Capps defeated Courtney Force in the final. Shawn Langdon won the Top Fuel race and Jason Line won the Pro Stock event.
