A Cranberry Township woman pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to embezzling $150,000 from a subsidiary of UPMC.
Authorities say 46-year-old Elizabeth Rotto embezzled the money from the Askesis Development Group.
Rotto’s indictment came as part of the federal Justice Department’s takedown of Medicare fraud cases, in which over 300 people have been charged nationwide with roughly $900 million in false billing.
She will be sentenced in November. She could face up to 10 years in jail.
