South Butler School administrators have once again applied for grant funding that could help to improve school safety if received.
Superintendent Dr. David Foley received approval from the board to apply for a two part PA Safe School Targeted Equipment Grant from the PA Department of Education and the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
The first part would be for $40,000 to address unspecified security issues revealed during an assessment by State Police earlier this year.
The second part of the grant request was for $365,000 towards a more comprehensive list of security concerns. It is not known when the announcement awarding that grant will be made.
Last year South Butler received $25,000 through this grant program.
