The National Weather Service has confirmed that two small tornadoes touched down in southwestern Pennsylvania during storms last week.
Investigators say a weak tornado spawning 70 mile-per-hour winds hit Fayette County near the West Virginia border on Thursday (June 16). The tornado is the first confirmed in the county since July 2008.
The same storm system is being blamed for another tornado across the border in West Virginia near Morgantown.
In Butler County, showers and thunderstorms are possible anytime after noon Monday, according to the National Weather Service. The primary concerns with this storm system is damaging wind gusts and large hail.
