Monday is the first day to purchase general hunting licenses in Pennsylvania and hunters should be aware of a few changes.
The Pa. Game Commission has increased the transaction fees from 70 cents to 90 cents for each purchased license. Antlerless deer licenses are now $6.90 for state residents and $26.90 for non-residents.
The Butler County Treasurer’s office will begin accepting antlerless deer applications by mail beginning July 11. Checks or money orders for the incorrect amount will not be processed and be returned to the hunter.
Finally, non-residents can apply one week earlier than in the past, beginning July 18. Landowner doe licenses are only available in person at the treasurer’s office before July 8.
