The public is welcome to learn more about our local history with a presentation coming up this week.
History of Alameda Park – Butler’s Disneyland – Presented by Bill May is scheduled for Thursday (6/16) at 6:30 p.m. at the park’s Carousel Shelter.
Local historian and storyteller May will take those who attend on a journey back to the early 1900s when Alameda was an amusement park with features like a roller coaster, Ferris Wheel, and boating lake. The talk will include rare photographs, video clips, and stories about celebrities like Louis Armstrong who performed at the park.
This free, 60-minute presentation is sponsored by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department.
