There were no surprises at the Thursday afternoon hearing to sell two former Butler elementary schools.
The first hearing before Butler County Court of Common Pleas Judge S. Michael Yeager finalized the sale of the former Clearfield Elementary property to CNC Malt for an amount of $235,000. Clearfield Township now has five months to remove the playground equipment on the property which they were awarded through a grant.
Next, the judge approved the sale of the former Meridian Elementary school for $425,000 to Michael Wright and his company Sparks Holding, Incorporated for use by his company 70E Solutions. Wright has said in the past that he plans to maintain the playground area for public use but no language was put in the sales agreement forcing him to do so.
Four Butler School Board members attended the hearing as well as four members of the district administration including Superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley.
