The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in overtime last night at the Consol Energy Center. Rookie Conor Sheary scored the game-winner after Sidney Crosby won a face-off to put the Pens up 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. Phil Kessel opened the scoring last night in the second period with his 10th goal of the playoffs. San Jose tied the game with just over four minutes in the game to force the overtime. The series will move to California for the next two games, beginning Saturday night.
Penguins winger Bryan Rust returned for last night’s game despite leaving game one with an upper body injury.
