A judge will decide Thursday if two former Butler Area School District Elementary schools will be sold.
Hearings will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Common Pleas courtroom of Judge S. Michael Yeager at the Butler County Government Center.
In March, the Butler Area School Board approved the sale of Meridian Elementary to 70E Solutions for $425,000. In April, a majority voted in favor of the sale of the Clearfield property to CNC Malt for $235,000.
It is now up to Judge Yeager to decide if those sales will become final. The judge could consider other proposals if other prospective buyers make offers at the time of the hearing.
The school board plans to market the Broad Street School to a wider scope of prospective buyers. A standing offer for the sale of the Oakland School property has been rejected twice by the board.
