The Pittsburgh Penguins took game one of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup final series with the San Jose Sharks 3-2 last night at the Consol Energy Center. Nick Bonino scored the game-winning goal on a pass from Kris Letang with just over two minutes remaining in the third period. The Penguins scored two goals in the first period, while San Jose scored twice in the second period to tie the game. Bryan Rust and Conor Sheary scored the other Penguins goals. Rust could miss time after leaving the game in the third period on a high hit to his head from the Sharks Patrick Marleau.
The Pens host the Sharks for game two of the series Wednesday. Game three will be in San Jose Saturday.
