The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 12-1 last night at PNC Park. The Bucs had 17 hits in the game, led by Gregory Polanco, who hit his sixth home run of the season, and drove in five runs. Pirate starter Francisco Liriano allowed just two hits, but only pitched into the sixth inning while walking five.
The Bucs and D-Backs play again tonight at 7:05pm. Jeff Locke will start for the Pirates. Hear the game on WISR 680am beginning at 6:40pm. The Pirates visit Texas this weekend.

Pirate pitcher Ryan Vogelsong suffered multiple facial fractures when he was hit by a pitch in Monday’s game with Colorado. Doctors are waiting for swelling to subside to determine the extent of damage. Vogelsong was struck in the left cheek by a 92-mile per hour fastball from Rockies starter Jordan Lyles.
