Police are offering an up to $2,000 reward to find the person who set a pickup truck on fire earlier this month in Forward Township.
Butler State Police Fire Marshal Trooper David Jungling said the fire on Friday, May 6 that destroyed a 2015 GMC Sierra was intentionally set.
The owner of the truck (a Renfrew man) parked on Stucky Road at Creek Road about 7 p.m. and went for a hike. When he returned, the truck was on fire. The owner did receive minor burns but did not seek medical treatment. The truck was destroyed.
Police are looking to identify a vehicle seen near the scene just before the fire. That vehicle is described as an older (mid-1990s or older), beat-up Jeep Cherokee, possibly red or orange.
Anyone with information should call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-472-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
