Cranberry Township is delaying the opening of their newly renovated water park.
The facility was originally set to open on Saturday, May 28 but has now been moved back one week until Saturday, June 4. The delay is due to expected inclement weather, officials say.
The new water park will feature a 500-gallon dump bucket, a spray pad surface, an expansion to the zero-entry depth area and a climbing wall. Other improvements include new heating and filtration systems, as well as new timing mechanisms for the slide and in-pool benches with “sunbrellas.”
“The renovations will make Cranberry Township’s Waterpark the place to be this summer in Western Pennsylvania. We’ve brought a little bit of the beach right to our community,” Pete Geis, Director of Parks and Recreation, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to offer such an outstanding new waterpark to our residents.”
The renovation cost the township $1.7 million.
