A local event Wednesday aims to help homeless veterans while also encouraging healthy activity.
VA Butler Healthcare is hosting their sixth annual VA2K Walk and Roll from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the VA Butler auditorium.
This is one of over 200 events like it taking place around the country Wednesday. Donations are not required but they will support the VA’s mission of eliminating homelessness for vets. Over $325,000 was raised nationally last year. You can also bring items such as granola bars, water bottles, toothbrushes and first aid kits.
This activity is open to everyone and can be completed during a lunch break.
WISR will be broadcasting It’s Your Turn from the event on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
