Work will begin soon on Cranberry Township’s Brush Creek wastewater treatment plant after supervisors approved bids for the work.
Supervisors accepted revised bids for the project totaling nearly $46 million after bids in February totaling $56 million were rejected.
Phase one of the project is expected to be completed by 2019 during which time the plant will continue with normal operations. The Township was able to cut costs by postponing some work until Phase two which would not begin until ten years after phase one.
Cranberry township supervisors also approved the use of nearby land for additional parking needed by workers during the project as well as made arrangements for fill resulting from excavation.
