A Slippery Rock man has been charged following a drug overdose that occurred last month while he was watching his two children.
According to a criminal complaint filed by State Police, 33-year-old Stephen Gilkinson is accused of two counts of felony endangering the welfare of children.
Troopers responded to a reported overdose on September 15th where they found Gilkinson inside a shed in the rear of his property. EMS personnel related that they had revived Gilkinson using Narcan.
Gilkinson told police that he had used heroin. An empty stamp bag and needles were located on a nearby table. At the time of the overdose, Gilkinson was the sole caretaker of his two children who were left unattended inside the house.
