Several southern Butler County municipalities are considering teaming up to start a new emergency operations center.
A letter was sent from the manager of Winfield Township to the Jefferson Township supervisors asking if they would be interested in joining the effort.
The goal is to get four or five municipalities committed to the center then each one would only need to contribute $20,000 in start-up costs.
Jefferson Township supervisors did not commit to the project but indicated that they might be interested if additional support was found.
