The former Superintendent of Butler Area School District will be honored at a program Wednesday.
Dr. Robert Paserba will receive the Abraham Joshua Heschel Award at 11:45 a.m. at the Rodef Shalom Congregation’s Freehof Hall on 5th Avenue in Pittsburgh.
The award will be presented by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Jewish Committee as well as the Diocese of Pittsburgh Department for Catholic Schools who have formed the Catholic/Jewish Educational Enrichment Program. Paserba was one of the founders of this interfaith partnership 15 years ago.
Paserba was superintendent for the Department of Catholic Schools before retiring in 2014 as Secretary for Catholic Education and Evangelization.
