Pennsylvania hunters are gearing up for the start of spring gobbler seasons.
Hunters 16 and younger can head into the woods on Saturday (April 23) for the state’s annual youth spring turkey hunt. A week later, on Saturday, April 30, all hunters can begin hunting spring gobblers.
A turkey biologist with the Pennsylvania Game Commission says an earlier spring has coaxed hens into nesting sooner which makes it easier for calling hunters.
