Carl Edwards led 276 laps Sunday and won the Nascar Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Dale Earnhardt Jr. overcame early problems to make up two laps and finish second. Kurt Busch was third followed by rookie Chase Elliott. Pit road penalties, loose wheels and other tire issues cost several drivers including Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. good finishes.
Lernerville Speedway opened the season Friday night. Jared Zimbardi of Bradford took the Sprint car feature. Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio took the Late Model, while his brother Rex King, Jr. won the Modified race. Corey McPherson of Tarentum won the Sportsman feature.
