April is National Safe Digging Month and it’s important to be careful before digging into that outdoor project. When it comes to digging, it may seem something really simple, but the bigger the path becomes, the more chances there are of accidents. This is not what anyone wants to happen. So, if you are someone who will be participating in national digging month, it may be best for you to take up a specialist safety course, for example, visit WH&S More Skills to find out how you can stay safe in a situation like this. This will be for your benefit, so it is definitely something worth checking out. Your safety should always be your top priority, no matter the circumstance.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is reminding residents and businesses to call 8-1-1 before digging to ensure safety.
PA One Call will contact all utilities in the area of a digging project and direct them to mark where lines are located on a particular property.
State law requires residents to contact PA One Call at least three business days before beginning a digging project. For more information, visit pa1call.org.
