The Butler County commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to borrow up to $10 million for capital projects.
The biggest project on the list is an estimated $4.5 million replacement project of the exterior panels on the County Government Center due to rust. The building sits next to the county courthouse downtown and was built in the early 90s.
Also on the list is an estimated $500,000 project to correct water issues in the basement of the courthouse.
The actual amount borrowed by the county for these projects will likely be less than $10 million (and closer to $6 million) but $10 million is the cap.

In addition to borrowing more money, the county will refinance some old debt.
The Butler County commissioners also agreed Wednesday to refund a 2006 bond worth just over $3 million.
The move will save the county about $240,000 initially because of current low interest rates.
