Holding on to a five stroke lead with nine holes left in the final round of the Masters, Jordan Spieth proceeded onto a collapse that propelled Danny Willet to his first major championship of his career.
Sitting at seven under (-7) after the front nine, Spieth went bogey, bogey, quadruple bogey, to start the back nine. Willet meanwhile shota bogey-free five under in his final round, enough for a three shot victory over Spieth.
Willet is the first English golfer to win the Masters since Nick Faldo won the green jacket after Greg Norman’s collapse in 1996.
