The Butler School Board and school administrators will take another look at the preliminary budget for next school year as they attempt to fill a nearly $7 million gap in revenue.
The district’s Finance Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Harriger Education Services Center near the Butler Senior High.
Last month, the preliminary budget was presented to the school board and it included the maximum tax increase allowed by law. If the 3-mill tax hike is passed, the average district homeowner would pay about $53 more in taxes.
The current property tax rate is 94.8 mills. The district did not increase the property tax last year.
