The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Washington Capitals tonight. A Penguins victory, or New York Rangers loss to the New York Islanders tonight, will clinch home ice advantage for the Pens in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Face-off is just after 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm. The Pens wrap-up the regular season in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.
Last night the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 to climb up to the top Wild Card playoff position in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers are now tied with the Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot.
The Penguins have signed goaltender Sean Maguire to a two-year entry level contract. Maguire was a fourth-round draft pick of the Pens in 2012. He went 13-9-1 with a 2.41 goals-against average this season with Boston University.
