The demotion of Butler City Fire Chief Nick Ban has been postponed until after a special city council meeting next week.
Butler City Mayor Tom Donaldson made the decision after a meeting was set to discuss the issue Wednesday, April 13th at 6 p.m. When Donaldson announced the move Monday, the demotion was set to take effect Saturday, April 9th.
According to Donaldson, he is not backing down from his decision to move Ban back down to Lieutenant and name an interim chief on Wednesday.
Donaldson still has not given a definitive reason for the move although he was adamant that it was not personal.
