A new program hopes to honor local veterans.
The City of Butler and American Legion Post 117 are beginning a Military Banner Program to salute those who have served and are serving. The picture banners will be displayed on utility poles between Memorial Day and Veterans Day indefinitely.
The one-time cost to participate in this program is $100 and applications can be picked up at the City of Butler administrative offices or at the American Legion Post 117 on South Main Street. Applications will need to include a good quality photograph which will be returned.
