The University of Pittsburgh has hired Kevin Stallings as their new men’s basketball head coach. Stallings has been at Vanderbilt the past 17 years, and led the Commodores to the NCAA tournament seven times. He has signed a six-year contract with Pitt, and will be introduced at a news conference this afternoon at the Petersen Events Center. He has an overall record of 455-283 in a career that began at Illinois State in 1993.
The NCAA men’s basketball tournament is down to the Final Four. Villanova will meet Oklahoma Saturday night. Syracuse will meet North Carolina in the other semi-final. The Orangemen eliminated Virginia 68-62. North Carolina defeated Notre Dame 88-74 last night.
