The victory was the Pens eighth in their past nine games, and moved the Pens to within three points of the second-place Rangers. The Penguins have seven games remaining and host the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday. The Rangers have six. The Penguins are three points in front of the New York Islanders, who have eight games remaining.
The Pens defeated the Detroit Red Wings 7-2 Saturday.
