Gas prices in the area jumped eleven cents in the past week, according to AAA.
The average price in Western Pennsylvania for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve is now $1.99. In Butler, the average price is the same ($1.99).
AAA says the price jump is the largest increase in just one week since March of last year (2015). They attribute the hike to a decline in gasoline supplies, relatively strong demand and continued refinery maintenance.
