The Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Islanders tonight at the Consol Energy Center. Face-off is 7:08pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm. The Isles defeated Florida 3-2 last night in Brooklyn to snap a two-game losing streak. They will begin tonight four points ahead of the Penguins for third place in the Metropolitan Division.
Former Penguins goaltender Thomas Greiss (Grice) has taken over as the Islanders top goaltender because of injury to starter Jaroslav Halak, (Hal-ak) who will miss the rest of the regular season.
The Pens have signed three rookie players to new contracts. Scott Wilson, Bryan Rust and Tom Kuhnackl (Coo-Konck-) have each received two-year one-way contracts which begin next season. Each have played their way into the Penguins starting line-up this season, and could have become restricted free agents this summer.
