The Mars Area School District has accepted the resignation of one of their administrators.
Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education Matthew Friedman’s last day will be April 29.
After spending over six years with Mars, Friedman has accepted the position of Chief Academic Officer with the Downingtown School District in the eastern part of the state. Friedman will have similar responsibilities in his new position such as professional development and technology, just on a larger scale.
Mars Superintendent Dr. Wesley Shipley says the district will take some time to re-evaluate curricular and financial needs before making a decision about hiring a replacement.
