A bill to raise the cost of many kinds of hunting licenses is now being considered by the Pennsylvania Senate.
Senate Bill 1148 of 2015 would increase the fee for a resident general hunting license from $19 to $29.
Resident and nonresident junior and senior license fees would not be affected under the proposal. The bill would establish an Ultimate Outdoorsman license that would combine seven of the most popular licenses for a $110 cost which would save money for hunters who do many different kinds of hunting.
The price of a hunting license has not increased for over 17 years and the PA Game Commission is struggling to achieve the funding necessary to meet goals and objectives.
