Pine Richland High School and Middle School are operating under heightened security today after a cyber threat yesterday forced the schools to close.
Northern Regional Police and the FBI conducted a threat assessment of the schools after a specific bomb threat. Police will maintain a presence at the schools this morning.
Also school officials have announced that students will be subject to a general search when they arrive this morning. The district said in order to facilitate the search, no backpacks are permitted today and only clear plastic bags can be used to bring in clothes or lunches.
