The Butler BlueSox’s Buck-A-Hit campaign will return this season.
For each BlueSox hit throughout the summer, home or away, $1 will be donated to the Ellen O’Brien Gaiser Addiction Center in Butler. The donations will be made by the BlueSox, Henninger and Robinson, P.C., and NexTier Bank.
The Gaiser Center, which began in 1970, treats 1,000 people annually who are battling drug and alcohol addiction.
This will be the fourth season for the Buck-A-Hit campaign. Over $5,000 has been contributed to local charities, including the Butler Health System Foundation’s Caring Angels program, the YMCA’s Strong Kid’s Campaign and the Community Health Clinic of Butler.
Opening day for the BlueSox’s eighth season is Thursday, May 26 at Kelly Automotive Park.
