The Pennsylvania Lottery is introducing a new mobile app.
According to Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko, “The mobile app is all about convenience and fun for our players and this new feature, being able to scan your instant ticket to see if it is a winner, is a very convenient feature for our players.”
Svitko is excited about the improvements made to the app, that was first unveiled back in 2014.
The instant ticket checker allows a lottery player to use their mobile phone camera to scan the barcode on an instant ticket to see if a prize has been won.
Svitko sees this new feature adding to the lottery experience and increasing benefits for older Pennsylvanians.
“This app makes it more fun to play the lottery and ultimately that benefits older Pennsylvanians because when people play, older Pennsylvanians win,” Svitko explained.
The Pa. Lottery app is available for free download through the Google Play and Apple app stores.
