The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh will hold a “Service of Apology” in the wake of two central Pennsylvania bishops who are alleged to have covered up years of sexual abuse of children by religious leaders.
Bishop David Zubik will lead the special service on Monday, March 21 at 7 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral in Oakland. It is open to all and no reservations or tickets are required.
Bishop Zubik invites anyone who has been harmed by the Church in any way to attend.
Earlier this week, state Attorney General Kathleen Kane released a grand jury report that found two bishops covered up the sexual abuse of hundreds of children by over 50 priests and religious leaders over a 40-year period in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
