The Butler Area School District is investing in a new curtain for their middle school stage.
On Monday night, the school board voted to purchase a valance and front curtain from Pittsburgh Stage, Inc. at a cost of nearly $12,000, which includes installation.
The money for this project will come out of the capital projects fund, specifically from money left over from refurbishments done at the Senior High.
The new curtain will be flame resistant and in place by the end of the current school year. Everyone at the meeting agreed that the old curtain is in horrible shape and may be original to the former Junior High building.
