In a day of many personal and season best performances, the Butler Girl’s Track & Field broke three school records at the Tri-State Track Coaches Association (TSTCA) meet on Saturday at Edinboro University – including the 1600 meter relay record from 1989!
The 1600 Meter Relay team of Odile Enslen, Kelly Kabay, Shana Hoy and Alexis Leech ran a school record setting time of 4:11.41 and placed 2nd. They shattered the the time of 4:15.50 set in 1989 by Tanya Aubrey, Meg Sedwick, Tori Watt and Martha Lansinger. And Senior sprinter Emily Horstman was at it again. She won the 60 meter dash in 7.89 seconds – while breaking Paige Allen’s record set in 2013. Horstman also placed second in the 200 meter dash at 26.28 – breaking the school record she set last week at Mt. Union.
The Distance Medley Relay team of Liz Simms, Maddie Tonini, Emma LeMay and Erin LeMay garnered a 1st place finish while the 800 Meter relay team of Maddie Glew, Odile Enslen, Shana Hoy and Emily Horstman placed second with a season best time of 1:48.86. The 3200 Meter Relay team of Liz Simms, Emma LeMay, Hannah Hays and Erin LeMay also ran as season best time of 10:21.62 for a 2nd place finish.
