The Butler Area School District has scheduled meetings to be held at the closed elementary schools before they could be sold.
The meetings will be held throughout the month of February at the former Meridian, Oakland and Clearfield elementary schools. The first will be next week (Wed, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.) at Meridian.
The purpose of the meetings are to get feedback from the community and also as a condition of school board member Bill Halle when he decided to drop his lawsuit against the district. A community meeting was held at the now-closed Broad Street School back in November where members of the public were joined by several organizations and companies interested in purchasing the property.
