Local restaurants in Butler County are partnering with Central Blood Bank to encourage people to donate blood this winter in support of local patients.
Amy Eury, a marketing representative with Community Donor Centers, said “This is the first year we are doing a coupon booklet. We approached different restaurants in Butler last summer just because we know that during the winter months, blood is in shorter supply because less people donate. We figured if we put together a coupon booklet with some of the Butler restaurants supporting us, it would get more people to donate.”
Local businesses like Texas Roadhouse, Cumming’s Coffee and Candy, Lyndora Bakery, Mazzanti’s Beans and Cream, Ponderosa Steakhouse, and Snack-N-Pack are among those participating, offering certain deals and discounts.
The program runs through the end of the month. Blood is very much in need at this time of the year, according to marketing specialist Megan Lakatos with Central Blood Bank.
“On top of the incentives that we do offer, it’s just important to let people know that they should come in and donate because you are helping local patients, especially during this time of need. It’s important that those who can donate, do donate. If they can come in and just give a short amount of time, it can really impact several lives in the area.”
Those interested in donating can visit community donor centers in Butler, Cranberry or Grove City. All blood donated in this area helps people at facilities in this area.
