Ongoing flooding issues at the Salvation Army in Butler City will keep the building closed for at least the next week.
The West Cunningham Street building in Butler has been closed since Wednesday after a sewage backup was discovered. Crews are working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
All activities have been suspended including the food bank and all after-school activities.
“It’s terrible,” an employee said Thursday.
The Salvation Army is a nonprofit organization. An employee said Thursday the group is currently working with their insurance company to cover the costs.
