Nearly 1,000 pairs of socks were collected for local senior citizens through the Butler Media Group’s Socks For Seniors campaign.
The goodwill project was started in Columbus, Ohio back in 2002 to help seniors keep their feet warm in the winter. It has since spread nationwide and is done near the holidays, which can be a particularly difficult time for seniors.
Thanks to the generosity of the Butler community, hundreds of socks are being delivered this week to seniors through the Meals on Wheels program.
