“There is no shadow to be cast. An early spring is my forecast!”
That was what thousands of onlookers heard early Tuesday morning in Gobbler’s Knob as Punxsutawney Phil made his 130th prognostication.
Per legend, since Phil didn’t see his shadow, there will be an early Spring. If he would have seen his shadow, we could have expected six more weeks of winter weather.
A Butler County fourth grader was in Punxsutawney Tuesday morning to take part in the festivities and perform as part of the second annual “Gobbler’s Knob Got Talent” competition.
Reilly Martin, 9, was one of two finalists, chosen from an original field of 90 participants. She sang and danced to the 50’s hit “Stupid Cupid” and through an audience vote, was announced as the top winner!
