Chris Stapleton is the latest addition to the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Lionel Richie, taking place on February 13th in Los Angeles. Previously announced performers include Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Dave Grohl, Rihanna, and John Legend. The event takes place during Grammy week.
Merle Haggard has canceled shows this weekend due to illness. The legendary singer is reportedly suffering from double pneumonia. Merle’s son, Ben Haggard, took to Twitter yesterday (Thursday, January 28th) to clear things up writing, “Dad isn’t sick again, he’s just still recovering from pneumonia. Takes awhile to get back to normal!” Merle was diagnosed with pneumonia back in December and was forced to reschedule a string of dates at that time.
