Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that ended in Cranberry Township.
Authorities believe a daughter may have killed her mother at their shared home in Buffalo, New York and then drove to the Red Roof Inn in Cranberry and killed herself.
Cranberry Township Police were called to the Red Roof on Route 19 Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 27) after hotel staff found a 55-year-old female dead in her room. Authorities believe the female died hours earlier, after checking in to the hotel Tuesday night. Evidence indicated the woman died from self-inflicted wounds, police say.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the woman may have harmed her mother before killing herself. Officers from the Buffalo Township Police Department went to the home to check on the 85-year-old mother and found she was deceased.
The names of both females are not being released at this time.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
