A local mentoring organization is partnering with a restaurant for a fundraiser Thursday as National Mentoring Month is nearing its end.
Michael Liebler, founder and executive director of Connecting 2 Tomorrow told our newsroom, “The Butler Applebees will give us a 15 percent donation back to the organization for each of the bills they receive on this day.”
Connecting 2 Tomorrow is an organization that works to teach mentoring skills to adult volunteers and then match them with teens that could use help.
C2T is holding a Dine and Donate fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Butler Commons Applebees. Those interested in participating should present their server with a flyer from C2T’s website or their social media pages.
January is National Mentoring Month and Thursday’s event is a way for the group to raise awareness, as well as some much needed funds.
“All of the money raised, 100 percent of it, goes back to the organization’s program expenses and supplies, so it goes right back to the kids. We are a 100 percent volunteer organization so there are no fees or upfront costs,” Liebler explained.
The group is looking to expand in the future so if you are interested in making a difference in the life of a young person, please visit connecting2tomorrow.org.
