Big Butler Fair Queen Rachel Laughlin was one of the top five finalists in the 2016 Pennsylvania Fair Queen competition.
Laughlin competed Saturday (January 23) in the competition, which is held every year as part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs convention.
Tioga County Fair Queen Darby Kasper beat out 60 contestants to win the title. She will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
Participants were evaluated on public speaking skills and knowledge of the agriculture industry, including their response to how they see fairs evolving in the future.
